Frequently asked questions
How much does an MVP cost?
It depends on scope, and I won’t give you a number at random. After the feasibility call you get a rough range; after framing, a firm fixed-price quote. For market context, I detailed the ranges I’ve seen in a note on SaaS MVP costs.
How long does it take?
For a well-framed first version, think weeks, not months. Framing exists precisely to strip out what can wait for V2: that’s what keeps timelines honest.
I only have an idea. Is it too early?
No. That’s what the 30-minute call is for: checking the idea holds technically and saying what to build first. Sometimes my advice is not to code yet.
I have a prototype built with Lovable or Bolt. Does it all need rewriting?
Not necessarily. Depending on the code, we harden it, migrate it or rebuild the fragile parts. The prototype audit tells you within days, before any commitment.
Why not a technical cofounder?
A technical cofounder takes equity, and strong profiles rarely join an idea with no traction. I give you the ability to build right now, without dilution. Nothing stops you revisiting it once the product has customers.
Who owns the code?
You do. The code is in your repository and the accounts (hosting, database, payments, domain) are in your name from day one.
You work alone. What happens if you’re unavailable?
The code is standard, tested and documented so it can be picked up. And if the project needs more hands, my recruiting work lets me find a qualified developer quickly.
Does my data go to OpenAI or Anthropic?
Only if you decide so. Depending on how sensitive the data is, we pick a provider that doesn’t train on it, European hosting, or a model that runs locally, as in Novera Recorder.
Fixed price or day rate?
Building a product is fixed price, per deliverable milestone. The on-demand CTO role is billed in days per week. Everything is quoted.
And once the product is live?
I can stay on as an on-demand CTO for what comes next, or help you hire the developer who will take over the product. That’s my other job, with Novera Talent.
